This was a VERY informative read. I struggle with waking up on time after napping, and I realise now it's because I nap (sleep, ig) for 30-40 mins. Thanks! Also, the sunnah position of sleep always works best for me - sleeping on the right side!
Glad that helped!🙏🏽 You can also take longer naps for 1 hour 30-45 minutes which is the average time for 1 sleep cycle.
[For anyone reading, Sunnah position is on the right side with right hand under the right cheek. This is also a healthier position as it puts less pressure on your heart.]
When you go to bed at night, if you count the time in sleep cycles try to set your alarm at the end of a cycle, that’ll help you wake up more refreshed in the morning too!
For example: If I sleep at 11pm and my cycles are 90 minutes, I should wake up in 6 hours (4 sleep cycles) or 7 hours and 30 minutes (5 sleep cycles).
This was again a new concept for me, I always wondered why 7 hours was too less for me and 8 hours too long. Will try the 5 sleep cycle thing, thanks! ✌
Ahhh..i have experienced this multiple times;using the noon,1-3pm slot, cozy envo, 10-20, better than caffeine for me.. being a medical student, and cherishing the fact that all this research is identical to basic sunnah science of napping ,this really hits home<3
Taking a nap was one of the most important things I have to do in my day to be at my full potential and productivity. I used to do that last year, But since I graduated from high school and changed my hometown, also I wasn't accepted in the speciality I dreamed for ....Alhamdulillah aala kuli hal , my routine flipped and I could no longer organize my day. And so this article was a reminder to me. I will set things right Inchae'allah .
May Allah protect you , جزاك الله خيرا في الدنيا و الآخرة
Hi Mahmoud, I'm a new follower and I really appreciate the content you share , and Macha'Allah you have a great English , so could you give us some strategies in how to master and improve our level in English, especially communication, because for me I understand English (I listen to english podcasts+books ..) but I still have the problem in how to communicate in English because my surroundings don't use it so if there is a technic or an application that helps in practicing English, share it with us .

I take a nap around 11 am. And the time I sleep is always more than 1 hour. To be honest, my body became limp and felt very hot like someone with a fever. And I ignored my body's reaction. Please give me your opinion on this matter.
I thought maybe it was because the weather was hot outside so my skin was hot too. And this happens every time I take a nap. Sometimes I'm lazy to take a nap because of this. Once I set an alarm, but when the alarm sounded loud, I have a headache. I wake up only to turn off the alarm and go back to sleep.
I'm not qualified to give medical advice unfortunately - I would seek help from a physician, it's likely there are other factors that might be causing that that a doctor can assess better.
